The Hillarys Boat Harbour Lighthouse. Accessible all year round and open to the public to climb at any time, this lovely lighthouse can be accessed by taking the road Northside Drive right to the end. There is a small car park, where you can then walk the last 150 metres to the lighthouse. It is located on the north side of the harbour. It isn't a very tall lighthouse but gives great panoramic views from the top down onto the harbour and looking north to Whitfords beach and beyond. This area is a popular fishing spot and the perfect place to watch the evening sunset.
This photograph was taken at dawn looking north west from the groyne on the south side of the harbour, that extends right out to the harbour mouth. With very low lighting and a slow shutter speed I was able to bring out the subtle pink hue in the dawn sky. The clarity of this image is captured with an f13 aperture setting, no filters were used.
