Kalbarri National Park lies on the west coast of Australia about 570km north of Perth. The National park features some of the states most beautiful landscape scenery. The Murchison river has cut through the sandstone, creating a magnificent gorge which reveals the red and white banded sandstone layers. You can walk all the way down to the river (as shown in this image) by following the Z-bend trail. It is quite a tricky trail and shouldn't be under estimated especially with children. It was worth it, the colours, the views (and if you time it right) the peace, was worth the effort. The colours of the rock are just as vivid as they appear here. I took this photo walking out into the middle of the river and standing on a rock, the water was icy cold but clear. A place I will have to revisit.
